How do you wake up from SP?
Post Body

Hello! Firstly a bit of background which might help, so I’m a 21 year old female, and I’ve probably had SP since I was around 13. It’s not a constant thing, it happens very randomly it can be twice a day to 0 times a month. I’ve NEVER had any hallucinations, or other side effects, to me I simply feel like I’m half awake aware of my body but I can’t move, and it’s kinda like I drift in and out of sleep and awareness. I think I realised that it only occurs with me when I change my sleeping pattern and more specifically when I over sleep in the morning or take an extra nap during the day. This kind of makes sense to me because my body probably isn’t used to regulating at those times.

So back to my question, I usually wiggle my toes, as they’re the only thing I think I can move. I say think because I can’t actually check and maybe it’s a mind thing 😂. Anyways this takes a while and it’s kinda frustrating. I’m too scared to just wait it out, so how else can I get out of it? Is it safe to ask someone to wake me? Is there a way that you use to wake up that helps you?

P.s I’m asking on. here because I know it can’t be cured by medicine and I wanted to hear how real people manage it?
