[Routine Help] Slugging - is it even possible to do as a person who moves a lot in their sleep?

So, I found a thing of Vaseline in my room while cleaning last night and because my skin has felt so dry, I decided I was going to try slugging on my driest areas which are my forehead, orbital areas, and nose.

I'm a side sleeper who also moves around a lot in their sleep. I only slept 1.5 hours last night and all of the Vaseline has rubbed off my face or sunken in (if that's possible) in that time. Not to mention, it's shedding season and my dogs hair started to stick to my face which was.. well, it wasn't a great thing for my allergies or texture sensitivities. I also felt like the side of my face sort of stuck to the pillow case.

I do use a few different thick Moisturizers at night, but living in the desert and having had it be a hot, dry day yesterday and wearing drying make up, I was really feeling the tightness.

So, I'm wondering, for those who are into slugging - how do you do it? Do you sleep on your back? Do you use an eye mask or bonnet or something? Like, how do you keep the Vaseline on there?

I did a lot of research on this and basically understood that slugging is basically used to lock overnight products in place with non-clogging material that also happens to be good for the skin. So, it's something I wanted to try, but I don't know how anyone can do it without rubbing it off or whatever?
