First update about me launching it - https://www.reddit.com/r/SideProject/comments/18fcvo7/launching_the_crunch_a_personal_finance/
Quick backstory: I came to the US when I was 15 and became obsessed with personal finance. I graduated with an accounting degree, got my CPA, and started building my net worth. Just two days ago, I reached a net worth of $200K at the age of 24. I want to help others learn more about the strategies to build wealth.
Numbers
I haven't posted a single issue on The Crunch yet, but it's coming this weekend. I created my plan about the topics I want to cover and how to make it the most valuable.
Today, we reached 148 subscribers ( ~100 since last update)
Here are the biggest platforms in terms of referral:
#1 Twitter - 91 subscribers, Conversion rate: 35.05%
91 Subscribers came from Twitter. This makes sense as I have a 7,000 audience related to personal finance. I didn't plug it often. Just have a link in my bio and sometimes I link it underneath my threads.
#2 Unknown - 28 subscribers
I'm not sure why this is an Unknown source, but I will try to work more on analytics to get a more granular pixel setup.
#3 Instagram - 8 subscribers
I have around 1,000 followers on Instagram. I announced the launch and got 8 subs. I just have a link in bio without really directly promoting it.
#4 Website directly - 3 subscribers
Someone probably typed it manually and it registered as the source. Not really much to talk about it.
#5 Threads - 2 subscribers, Conversion rate: 4.26%.
2 days ago I started posting personal finance content on Threads too. Just basically a repost from Twitter. It already drove 47 visitors to my site. I'm not sure how this platform will play out in 2024, but I'm optimistic on it.
#6 LinkedIn - 1 subscriber
I messaged a few people on LinkedIn asking them to subscribe. Don't have a lot of optimism on the platform as of now.
Next Steps
I'm writing a free e-book about tax strategy for individuals (i.e. W-2) & business owners. I worked with clients in this space before and have my CPA, and I think this can be a really good hit. I already have around 50 strategies around the topic, almost 20 pages in.
It will be free lead magnet. My goal with the launch is to drive 100 subscribers to the book. I will promote it on all my social media platforms. I hope to finish it within the next month.
Day by day.
