One of my favorite games is Crusader Kings 2 but the way that the game does military combat is cringe-worthy. As such I am looking for a game with good medieval combat (preferably one that allows fighting on horseback) that isn't a MMO. I have my eye on Mount & Blade: Warband; is it a good choice or are there even better ones?
EDIT: Thanks everyone. I'll get Mount & Blade: Warband in the upcoming Steam sale.
