Custom Google Assistant (or other AI assistants)

I it possible to sideload or is it any apps that contain a more complete Google Assistant on the shield? Actually I like the idea of using the assistant, but in my world I use it with Home Assistant (so more for smart home and timers).
Though I cant for the life of me understand that something as simple as a timer cant be set on google assistant on shield
