So let me start by saying that this is probably nonsense but it was an idea that popped into my head early on in series. At first I just thought of it as a weird idea but as things have developed I thought in it might be interesting to share it with others. So the basic idea of it all is that the entire of the story is basically just ariels tomb and everyone is in an infinite time loop or maybe some kind of fate loop. This would ultimately be just one of who knows how many loops though presumably the last one just like in the tomb.

Sunny and his cohort or atleast some variation of them are actually the gods. You see in the end of every loop as world is ending and the cohort is fighting to save the everything something happens to finally make them God's. In the legend great desire or wish or something(can't quite remember) gave birth to the gods. I see basically to options for this. One the wishes hope's and desire of all humans maybe past present and future to live and survive comes to together some how and the cohort uses it to become God's. The option is that Nephis is the desire and she does something to grant the great power maybe sacrifice her cores or her self or makes use of the above desire of all humans to grant the cohort great power making them the gods this may or may not include her.

Though I could argue for a few different people to be the forgotten God but I actually believe the sunny is actually the forgotten God. The deamons are actually sunnys shadow/avatars with weaver being his first shadow aka the lord of shadow which already always wears a mask sometime weavers. Everytime things reset everyone forgets things. Everyone but weaver that is who remembers most or everything because of weavers mask. That is why he never takes it off so that he always remembers so that he can do what he needs to. That's way he doesn't fight in the war because both sides are his friends and family and he has more important things to do like trying to save everyone and break the loop. He creates the nightmare spell to use it as way to make a change during each loop even after he is gone. he also knows exactly where to place everything so that sunny gets his legacy because he has already been through it.

In this theory Rain and or asterion are likely to end up as part of the group during the final battle. Mordret could also be part of the group in some way but I think he is somehow going to end up being fate to become the cage. The nothing and the nobodies. That being said I also wonder if jet has something to do with cage considering that she turns into mist and which matches up with the mists of the hollow mountains.
