Need help with getting a Seiko repaired.
My late father (passed away in 2008) owned a Seiko 7T62-0CE8 200m titanium. It was his exclusive wristpiece for years, right until he died. My mom kept it, with the intention of gifting it to her first grandchild when they graduated high school.
Since then, the battery has died.
Well, that grandchild graduated high school this past May and just started college. My mom could not find a Seiko repair shop that could replace the battery on the watch for a decent price. So, I took the watch off her hands.
I replaced the battery myself, but when I pull the crown to 2nd position and set the time, then to 1st position and set the date, nothing happens when I push the crown all the way back in. So either I put Ithe wrong battery (I bought a pack of LR927 batteries from Amazon) or something else more significant is wrong.
I checked the watch repair list on this sub and checked BlairWitch Project since theyre the closest to me (they're in Washington, DC. However, their website states they are not taking service requests.
Does anyone know of any other services in the Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia area?
Or.. did I install the correct battery but there was some reset procedure I should have followed?
Thanks...
