Drinking very old scotch
Post Body

First of all, I posted last night about loving the reviews you guys post and totally got a kick out of reading all your comments today. Thank you.

So my parents have a bottle in their wet bar of scotch that my grandmother's father brought over from Scotland when he immigrated in the 1930's. For the life of me I can't remember the name, but it was bottled in 1929 and was 10 years old at the time. It is unopened (obviously) but portions of the cork seem to have disintegrated and fallen to the bottom of the bottle.

A quick google search says it's safe to drink but that I should strain it through cheese cloth. Frankly, I trust you guys more than google. Any advice? Am I going to get the plague from drinking it? Can it be re-corked (is that even a thing?) Do I need to invite some buddies over and make a night of it to finish the thing?
