I received a call just now from a Arnett and Ashworth saying I owed Advance America over 2k dollars from a loan I took out in 2016. They claimed they had sent documents to my home 45 days ago, but I never received anything. I asked them to send it to me and she asked for my email and she sent it there.
I told her I’d look it over and then call her back. I looked it over and called her back. I pointed out the statute of limitations is only 4 years and that I also have no memory of taken out any loan during that time period. She claimed that they have a way around that but I honestly can’t remember what she said or called it.
This has never been on a credit report of mine. Ever. I did take out a long near that time but that was using a car title and I paid it back and it wasn’t via Advance America.
I feel like this is a scam but she wasn’t trying to get me to pay. She was like that’s fine you’ll be summoned for it so have a nice day.
Little concerned.
Edit: contacted Advance America. Asked if I had ever had an account would they be able to locate it. They said yes. I gave them my info and they said they have no accounts under my name. So guess yup that’s a scam.
