Insane rent

Just a rant. Last 3 years, rent has increased 5% every lease renewal. Now, a new technology fee has been added to the rent renewal.
Can’t leave due to financial reasons. Basically still in bk repayments. Therefore, cannot find a new place until next year, when repayment can plan is over.
I am so frustrated by the cost of living here. 15 years ago, I was able to live comfortably in a 2 bd apartment in Santa Clara and now paycheck to paycheck in 1 bd. Same job.
