Hello everyone,
I'm trying to make sense of something and could use your insights. How has a SaaS company like Resend managed to raise $3 million? I don't understand what sets them apart from other email API services.
Nothing sets them apart. They seem to advertise one innovation in that you can "write emails with React" (which they promptly compile down to non-reactive HTML).
But still, people need to send emails. They have product-market fit -- they are offfering a valuable service at the end of the day, albeit not new. If some product manager working in sales outreach stumbles across resend before they discover mailgun etc then they will just pay resend for something that works
