Following the successful assassination attempt by Left SRs Bolshevik rebels during his victory parade, a funeral procession via a somber military parade would be held in Moscow to honor the "Hero of the Russian People" who helped save Mother Russian from the vile Bolsheviks. While units from the Provisional Government were apart of the brigade - primarily General Kappel's 1st Corps of the Volga Military District - most of the proceedings were done with men from the AFSR, with the members of the Kuban and Don Cossacks taking the place of honor as they alone marched with Denikin's coffin to Donskoy Monastery where the general would be provided a 21-gun salute before being interned in a special grave, the mausoleum planned to further honor Denikin still being designed. Patriarch Tikhon of the the newly reestablished Moscow Patriarchy would do the honors of interning and providing last rites for General Denikin to ensure a proper, Orthodox burial. Boldyrev would come down from Petrograd and away from the Constituent Assembly for a few days to honor his fellow brother-in-arms while the Assembly, taking a break from its closed door session, would announce two weeks of mourning to honor Denikin following his death.
