I have oral HSV 1. I haven’t had an OB in 3 years due to dietary and health changes. I recently had to start taking antibiotics and it has weakened my immune system. For the first time in years, I have a OHSV1 OB and my lip is swollen.

The biggest thing I’m concerned with is potentially exposing myself to GHSV1… I have not had any sexual or intimate partners recently, so no worries for anyone else. But, I didn’t initially realize that I was having an outbreak. Day 1 It started off as little bumps and redness and I didn’t think anything of it and I think I was in denial about it. I thought my lip was just irritated because skin irritation is a normal thing for me. I did mess with the bumps a little bit because i didn’t realize at the time.

I subconsciously wiped my hand over the affected area on my lip, then stuck said hand in my pants at the top of my pubic area closer to my hip (it’s a comfort thing—please no judgment). I do have fully grown pubic hair as well. When my lip started consistently itching and looking more red and feeling hot, I started getting more suspicious so I removed my hand and went to wash them and did not do it again. Day 2 is when the sores formed and lip swole.

How likely is it for me to transfer my OHSV1 to GHSV1 from the pants mishap? Would I have to wait to see if symptoms set on? I’m pretty paranoid so any perspective helps !
