Had a client reach out for drop ins & also wanted to have their dogs watched by me but nothing listed about the dog. Any time I get requests that have me going to their place I ask for an address to check drive time. Often where I live it may only be 2-3 miles but it’s 30-45 minutes drive time & 2-3 times longer then that on weekends because beach traffic can be crazy. Only couple roads go over to barrier Islands. I have found it can be faster to take the boat. Took a few tries to get an address & even then only came me a street name no number. But shows it’s on this side of inter-coastal so no problem. They then canceled 3 different times for M&G before. We settled on day & time so I asked for house number again. They responded with yes I will need your address as well so I can come see your house where my dog will stay. I said 100% agree but since I will be headed to your house in about 90 minutes I need your address now. Finally gave me the house number. Each reply from them took forever some next day. I saw it & was like cool I have time to go get my run done & shower before I head over as it’s only a few minutes drive. Now remember this has been going on for about a week when I got house number finally. I get back to find 5 messages requesting my address as well since they gave me theirs. Dead on at 60 minutes sent a message saying they are canceling our meet & greet because I didn’t respond fast enough. I was so relieved as I now don’t have to go meet them. But I let them know if they looked back I had responded to every other message in less then 5 minutes & I wished them the best luck finding a sitter who can be at their beck&call 24/7. I have never had a client act so weird about an address. Hell I have keys to so many house around town & are offered to use their cars as well as boats even if I want to take to pups out to the sandbars. I just imagine them sitting at home freaking out because a professional pet care giver knows their address. I am way too busy to work with people that have such trust issues. Have a Great Day.
