Having Trouble with VBA

Hey guys, I used to use Visual Boy Advance a lot to emulate Pokemon games but it's been a few years and I have a new PC.

I installed the latest version of VBA from their website and a ROM for Emerald. However, I cannot change the keybinds. When I go to 'Options,' there is no Joypad listing for some reason. And I can't stand the binds that is has set.

I managed to download an older version of VBA, 1.7.2. It has joypad listed in 'Options,' and the controls I like, but I can't find an Emerald ROM to work with it.

Does anyone have any advice on how I could either change the keybinds for the current version of VBA, or find an Emerald ROM that may work with 1.7.2?
