News is coming out that there has been a shooting at The Covenant School in Nashville, TN. There are confirmed reports of both students and adults who were killed. Most media outlets are currently reporting. For a random sampling, here's NBC, CNN, NYT, and Fox. These links may change.

The reason we are posting about this is because the school is associated with Covenant Presbyterian Church, a church of the PCA. All school shootings are tragic; the reason we are starting a specific thread is because this shooting is uniquely relevant to our sub.

We are starting this official mod thread for a few reasons:

1. Please be in prayer for this school, these families, and this church.

2. We want to contain discussion about this event in a focused post. Incidents like that are liable to spark numerous news stories, tweets, blog posts, etc., so we want to keep everything orderly. Please post everything about this here.

3. Guys, we can't stress this enough: Follow. The. Rules. When emotions run high, this sub can have problems. We will have zero tolerance for uncivil discussion of this issue. You will not get any warnings. You will be banned. That's a firm promise.

4. This is not a general news sub, but this is a newsworthy event that is highly relevant to our sub. Please try to keep discussions relevant to the event and the sub. We know that school shootings are a political hot topic, but this sub is not the place for generalized political bickering. This is not the time. This is not the place. If you want to have those arguments, the rest of reddit is ready to have you.

5. Again, go read #3. We undoubtedly will have people here who have connections to this church and this school. Keep those users in mind when you speak.
