Can't start any delivery missions

I havent played in a few years, and recently got back into the game. For weeks now every time I try to start a trader delivery mission I get a black loading screen for up to 5 minutes before I get a "couldnt connect to rockstar servers" error and kicked back to the menu.
Precisely once in all of this it did allow me to start a delivery, but as I pulled my wagon into town the game crashed, and when I relaunched it was like I had never even started the delivery.
What, praytell, the fuck?

Well, at this point I now have, and this is the correct answer, it fixed it immediately.
I now bounce back and forth between playing in open lobbies to do multiplayer stuff, and solo when i need to do trader stuff, bounty stuff, etc.
