Issues processing payment after part-crypto deal with old friend on inherited property
Post Body

I recently sold a property i inherited in Toronto to an old friend. He paid me $400k in ETH and $75k in cash. The cash part went smoothly, but when I tried to convert the ETH to fiat currency, I ran into problems. I transferred the ETH to my digital wallet without issues, but when I attempted to exchange it for fiat, the transaction got flagged. The platform put the funds under review, citing potential issues with the source of the ETH. Now, my ETH is stuck in the wallet, and I can’t access or convert it.

I’ve contacted customer support several times, but their responses are slow and unhelpful. Tried to speak to my bank as well, but it seems like they are just dodging my questions. They keep telling me the funds are under review, but they don’t provide any details or timelines. I’ve also researched online and spoken with a few experts, but I haven’t found a solution yet. Only thing i could find out is that 68% of the ETH i received comes back dirty on the AMLbot report due to illicit source.

I even talked to my old friend about it, but apparently he has no idea what triggered this either. It’s been weeks, and I’m still unable to move my funds or convert it to fiat. Has anyone here dealt with a similar issue? Any advice on how to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

You sold a property in Toronto for $475 000? Whats it a large cardboard box on the side of the road?
