So I made a very dumb mistake that will most likely require I buy a new oven and pans. When I opened the oven door after the self cleaning process, I had one of the biggest facepalm moments of my life haha

I have a gazillion baking pans so I tend to store CLEAN alimunium pans in the oven when it's not in use. I also had silicon rack guards installed when I set the oven to self clean. I made a dumb mistake and forgot to take out the silicone guards first.

I did not take out the pans because I stupidly thought it would be OK to leave the clean metal pans in the oven and that they might even look new again since everything would be burned away 🤦‍♀️.

Well that did not happen haha and I'm pretty sure they are all ruined now. The silicone vaporized and made a mess leaving silicone ash that is water repellant.

I then made ANOTHER dumb decision to post on Reddit in case someone else had experienced the same thing and I could get some tips. And also thought maybe it would prevent anyone else from repeating my mistake lol. I'm just mostly getting roasted and pummeled in the comments. (Feel free to grab some popcorn and head over there - bonus you get to meet my snarky side 😂)
