Well, it took me a minute to get here, but I'd like to introduce myself.

I'm an early 30s f/gender-fluid human and became interested in makeup about 3 years ago. No one really taught me how to be a girl except for one time when I was a toddler and a cousin slapped a bunch of blue eyeshadow on me and called it a day. I know this because there is photo evidence.

I see makeup as a costume, and have gotten much better at making it fit with my face, while accumulating a small, but fitting collection for myself, and am always looking for ways to improve. I'm excited that this subreddit exists, especially considering the negativity that seems to be prevalent in a lot of other makeup-oriented subreddits, and love watching people get sent things! I don't need any new makeup myself, but the joy that people get from giving and receiving is a pretty light at the end of the Internet tunnel.
