So sorry to be so late. My fiance caught covid, and now I have a kidney infection so it's been a rough go for us both. Luckily I am off of work until Saturday so I have some time off to recover.
u/Fyrestarr I hope you working on Christmas and New Years wasn't so bad! I was supposed to work New Years Day but my fiance's Covid ended up getting me that off. Hope you're well!
u/Rura_Penthe924 What a lovely photo of the waterfall! I always loved waterfalls. I hope your holiday was restful and happy!
u/Tinawebmom Happy Holidays! Thank you for the well wishes.
u/BATTLE_METAL Happy New Year! Thank you for the unique card and the well wishes!
u/Intrepid_Researcher x2 Thank you so much for the highly decorated card and the wonderful surprises inside! This card was a joy to open and as always I love the interesting stamps!
u/constructionlower Thank you for the cute postcard! Happy New Year!
u/cupcakes_and_canter thanks so much for the card! Your little pooch is so cute!
u/Bree867 Happy New Year! I may not be starting my year in the best way, but I definitely started it off with a load of cards! That's a positive!
u/Latterbook2700 Thanks so much for the postcard! You're right, the patients do have to eat! It's a little frustrating sometimes when I experience my own health issues and I feel the strain that the hospital is under to provide care. I feel like if the pandemic wasn't happening, I would have been admitted to the hospital. But, there are sicker people than me who need the care more so I am at home! I have to be grateful that I am not as sick as they are.
u/Kitsune_Scribe I hope your holiday was good! Thank you so much for the card. I love pecan pie! My mom makes seriously the best and the prettiest pecan pie. I miss it so much!
u/ribeyecut x2 I think you sent me two cards but I misplaced one! But the card I do have in front of me is truly worth two flairs on it's own because it's a pop-out card! I haven't been given a pop-out card since I was a little kid and I love them. So truly thank you for brightening my day several times over.
The holiday event was small this year, only me and 5 other people, but it was still a load of fun and everyone really appreciated being there and it was worth every minute of fundraising time and preparation time.
u/tiredpantyhose Happy Holidays! Hey, a fellow hospital worker! I hope your hospital is not suffering too bad from covid infecting the staff and staff quitting and all that. But what can we really do? Solidarity mate. Christmas wasn't too bad. I was supposed to work New Year's Day as well but ended up being put on quarantine because my fiance caught covid. It was all fine though. Hope you are doing ok!
u/georgish Thanks for the kind words! Honestly the job has become pretty routine it's just the staff shortages that are making it really difficult. Everyone including myself are having a lot of issues with call outs and there's no staff to fill the gaps, there's no staff to cover requested time off etc. I just wish we had more employees! It's difficult to say the least. But I can't leave to go somewhere else because every industry I have experience with is understaffed. but hey, it does pay the bills! I hope your holiday was restful and peaceful. Thanks again for the card and thanks for asking about me and listening to me vent for a little bit!
u/josephineismyhero Thanks for the cute card & the kind words <3
u/Arrow5555 Thank you for the adorable little snowman card and the well wishes, I really appreciate them!
u/Kaaplan x2 Thanks so much for the beautiful glittery card and the stickers!
u/CSWL x2 Thanks for the 2 cards! The thing I look forward to most in winter is the holiday baking and sharing those treats with friends and family. I just made a double batch of my grandma's recipe for fruitcake and it used 6 pounds of mixed dried fruits and almost 3/4 of a medium sized bottle of bourbon! As for Christmas trees, I don't use real christmas trees but I prefer a natural colored tree with white lights as well. My color scheme is red and white on my tree and I have homemade burlap flowers on my tree because I made my whole tree cat-proof decorations.
u/sweetlittleghost x2 thank you so much for the card, the blank bonus mini card, and the extra goodies! I usually celebrate by throwing a free holiday celebration for those in need of a meal and somewhere to be on christmas day, but I had to work christmas day this year so I held it on Christmas Eve. I planned to have a late christmas eve dinner with my fiance when he got off the bus from visiting his family in vermont at around 8pm christmas day, because I would have just gotten home from work, but his bus ended up being canceled so this year I just had dinner with the cats alone because none of my roommates were home! And then on monday when My fiance DID come home, he immediately tested positive on a Covid rapid test and we had to isolate in separate rooms! We toasted the end of 2021 gladly, standing 10ft apart drinking cheap champagne out of paper cups. We said, fuck 2021 here's to 2022. And now I have a kidney infection LOL.
Sorry to complain. I honestly think it is funny at this point, it's just such awful, horrid luck. but I am home and I am ok (relatively) and I am ok enough to go through my cards finally and write this post so that is something right? It feels good to check this off my to-do list.
So, That's all the thank-yous for all the cards that are in my house! If there are still cards in my PO box I apologize sincerely- I haven't been in about 3 weeks and now that I'm sick I don't think I'll be until this infection is cleared up.
Every time I post a thank you and have to go through all of the cards again I am just overwhelmed with the feelings of joy and support from everyone on this subreddit. You are all amazing and if I had enough fruitcake and enough postage to mail you all a slice, I would.
