I took a break, and collected so much mail during the break that I chose to save it all up and open it when I was ready to get back online. I'm going to try and be more limited with the time I spend online, maybe weekly instead of daily, but I just wanted to say that I have enjoyed being here so much, and I have a full heart and I'm ready to actively participate again after my break.
So, on to the thank yous! There are so very many!
u/56thorns - thanks for the cat card! I hope Spring has sprung and that you are no longer dealing with snow!
u/sable__ - thanks for the cute puppy postcard and for the tea to celebrate Puppy Day!
u/LP-1 - Thank you for the beautiful postcard from Paris! My husband and I have Paris at the top of our travel wishlist, so hopefully we'll get there eventually! It sounds like a beautiful place to experience. I love the Notre Dame stamp you used too! And the wax seal!
u/ordinaryclover - Ahh! I love the Amélie themed postcard! The lyrics, the gnome! The drawings and French themed washi tape! It's wonderful, and reminds me that I need to watch Amélie again. Twenty years! Wow!
u/powelale000 - I love the bright yellow of this postcard! So happy. I was scheduled for my second vaccine dose when you wrote it, and I've since gotten the dose, waited two weeks, and can now claim to be fully vaccinated! My husband is too, so we've been slowly getting out of the house, but still masking up! Thanks for the encouragement about turning down the wedding invites. I wanted to go, but the risk was too great. Seeing photos that family members sent, I know we made the right choice to stay home!
u/karenlui - Thank you for the postcard with the drawing of AB Kacang. It looks delicious! I've never had this style of shaved ice, but I enjoy shaved ice in general. Growing up my family had a small shaved ice maker with a blade you turned manually to shave the small ice block. It was my favorite thing in summertime.
u/zippingrailcar - Thanks for the whale/moon postcard! It's a neat illustration, and the next time I see a crescent moon, I will imagine it's a whale. :) Speaking of Percy Jackson, I read the Heroes of Olympus series, and I'm part way through the Trials of Apollo series. Fun books to read, though I try to break up my kid lit with more grown up books. But man, kid books are so fun!
u/A_Rank_Amateur - Thanks for the El Arbol Lotería postcard! I love the verse you included as well. Good shade is a great thing to have! :)
u/mikepenpal6 - I love the Disney coloring postcard! I've never been to Disneyland though I'd love to go one day. I think the illustration is awesome, very old school travel style. (I have been to Disney World, but every park is different!)
u/wabisabi_sf and u/ninajyang - Thanks for the hang out postcard! I think it's super neat that you got together for coffee and sent cards. Such a fun idea! The banana chocolate almond croissant sounds divine!
u/MyMoted - Thanks for the Pantone color postcard! This is perfectly my kind of yellow (same color as my phone)! I love that you have aquamarine as your favorite. It's such a beautiful color and gemstone too! (My birthstone as well!)
u/ColorlessMurakami - Thanks for the book recommendation and for the vintage postcard! I love seeing old buildings, and especially when there's details that clearly identify the time frame. Cars and clothes, even the style of font used for the business signage. Love it!
u/NewNewRubberDucky - I love the Nausicaä postcard! It's such a great film, and the detail in each scene is astounding. Even the clothes she's wearing - the embellishments and the jewelry - so great.
u/CupidKat - Your photographs are absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing them with me, and for describing the day you photographed them. What an amazing adventure that must have been. To be so close to these beautiful beasts and just step out of their paths as they moved toward their quarry. Thank you so very much.
u/valandro - Oh my friend, you went above and beyond in assisting me with my oddball request. Thank you so much for assisting me with my notecards, I hope you enjoy them too. I don't even remembered how I heard about Cat Rabbit, but I love the art they create. I think it's amazing what some people are able to do with felt and fabric. Everything arrived in beautiful condition, including your outer envelope and letter. Thank you again for doing this, you are amazing!
u/libertyprogrammer x2 - Thank you for the fun collage! Unicorns, narwhals, and llamas, oh my! I love the little flying pig as well! Such a fun card, I hope you had a blast making it! Thanks also for the Flair celebration card, and the cute coloring pages you included! I love the little elephant with the sea monster on its trunk!
u/xoxounityoxox - Thank you for the happy mail! I hope you and your partner had a lovely birthday month! My husband and I are both March, so I understand the birthday month bias! :) Our excitement lately has come directly from being fully vaccinated! We're taking a mini-vacation next week in fact. Just visiting family, but after this past year, being able to just go feels amazing! Good luck as you finish up the school year! (and thanks for the stickers! The low-poly tomato one is particularly neat because I'm growing tomatoes in my mini-garden and there are three on the vine right now!)
u/MadameTrixie - Yay for vaccinations and being able to explore! There are so many neat things to see and do in this part of the state, and I hope you are able to take advantage of all there is out there! Let me know if you want/need any suggestions! :)
u/e-fletch - Ahh! Thank you for the envelope of goodies for your April Fool's Day offer! I feel so lucky to have won, and I love all the little goodies you sent. I can't wait to use the stickers, try the tea, and do the word search! (I've been SUPER into word searches lately, so this was an awesome little inclusion!)
u/Tinawebmom x2 - Thank you for the two wonderful notes you sent - and both yellow! My favorite color. I love all the stickers you included as well, and I particularly love the teddy bear card you made. The bits of big glitter/tiny confetti brightened my day when I opened it too! Goats milk soap sounds absolutely luxurious! I completely understand that feeling about crisp and windy spring days. It's such a wonderful feeling!
u/szedecrem - Thank you for the "Wordless" challenge postcard! I love the image you selected. Even though it's wordless, many words come to mind looking at this image, but I can't pick one. So I will leave it at that! :)
u/imeldamail - Thank you for the Flair celebration postcard! I love it! So bold and bronze and glitzy! I love the stickers too! They remind me of the metallic star stickers they use to give me in elementary school, only these are hearts and butterflies! I've never seen these before, and I adore them. Thanks so much for celebrating with me!
u/nutriyum - Thank you for the Sleeping Beauty concept art postcard! I love that it's the blue dress. The sheep stickers are so cute and fuzzy! I love them! I love your story about the actor error - I just love the way we observe things we see in the world. Even if it seems small, it helps us enjoy being human. :)
u/DPClamavi - Thank you for the postcards and the letter answering all my questions! The stamp is beautiful too. I'm going to send a response letter too! I love that you suggested Queen of the Tearling - I've read the first two, but need to read the Fate of the Tearling still.
u/Jdoodle7 - Thank you for the card and enclosed letter! I'll respond by snail mail as well. I do drink coffee, but I completely understand the choice of Swiss Miss over fancy brands. I even like the gas station hot chocolate that comes out of those automated machines. My husband things I'm crazy, but hey, it's got that cheap powdered cocoa mix from my childhood! (Especially if there's miniature marshmallows, yum!)
u/justalilpatience - I LOVE the super shiny envelope, and the super cute "open me!" panda! The stickers (and the comic envelope!) and the washi tape were a fun addition! I loved reading all of your answers, and I love the idea of a miniature giraffe! This really was such a fun exchange! Sorry I took so long to post a thank you!
