My mailbox has developed the trickles because when I looked inside it today three (count them, three) cards came trickling out of the box from RAoC! Now I usually don't get much personal mail, but what I received today hit me hard on a personal level! Right between the eyes! Just like when you get freezer burn (no that's not what I mean) ...it's brain freeze from eating very cold ice cream that I'm thinking about, that hits you with a smack right between the eyes!
So first off I would like to thank my parents and my teachers and my family and my numerous neighbours for making this all possible! Ooops! Wrong situation! I'm not at an awards show! Okay! I'll hoist up my pants (Ouch! - gave myself a little wedgie) and get this thank you straightened out!
The first person I'd like to thank is u/blackcat_bibliovore (boy that's one heck of a username - now I know you're supposed to say an when using a word that starts with a vowel, but 'an username' just doesn't sound right!) So I'll just say "That's one username that's a one heck of!" But that doesn't make much sense and besides it ends in a preposition and sentences aren't supposed to end in prepositions! And furthermore it's supposed to be an one heck of, seeing as it also starts with a vowel, which again doesn't sound right! The guy who created the English language sure made this difficult! If anybody knows who he is, give me his phone number, because I need to contact him and have a good talk with him and have him explain why he messed up so totally when creating the English language! "So, that's one heck username!" Glad I got that out of the way!
Now back to the thank you! Here's the back of the first trickling I received today! Look at it right here! It's the back of an envelope! And I can't show the full frontal exposure of the envelope cause it's got top secret stuff all over it but here's the stamps on the front! Right here! The bottom stamp is a Spoonbill and the top right is a Frigatebird and the top left is... Well, I can't make out the top left birdie's name because some doofus at the USPS decided to smudge the birdie's name with that "Energy Awareness Month" stamp thingy that they're so fond of using! Now I hate to say this, but it kinda looked like the birdies got splatted onto the envelope when they were delivering it! Hope they didn't suffer! RIP guys! Okay on to the finales ... the card itself! A tour de force as seen right here!! It's a peacock and notice how all of this mailing fits so smoothly together! The design on the back of the envelope matches the design with the peacock on the card itself and the peacock is a birdie just like the stamps are birdies! Perfecto! The card was sent as a thank you!
Okay the second thing I got in the mail was this right here! I bet you'll be able to guess what it's all about! Oops! Ended with a preposition again! "I bet you'll be able to about guess what it's all!" There I've reworded it but now it doesn't make sense! I really need to talk to that guy who made up the rules for the English language! Phone number please! Anyway as you're probably aware this is a postcard of San Diego! And I'm thinking, I bet it's an announcement with an invitation for a free trip to San Diego! Just like the cards I get in the mail from time to time from funeral homes inviting me to be cremated! I imagine being cremated could be a pretty hot situation so I'm holding off for the time being on contacting the funeral home to come pick me up! Anyway, this postcard is from my super favourite buddy u/brooklynlad! How you doing, super favourite buddy? Wish I could show everyone the back of the card but again it's got top secret spy stuff on it that I can't divulge under penalty of death (or of being cremated at my local funeral home)! The hand-writing on this postcard is smashing! Oh yeah, brooklynlad has a tendency to say Woohoo! And it's right here on this postcard! It says "Woohoo!" believe it or not! Well, "Woohoo!" right back atcha! And there's another of those "Energy Awareness Month" stamps on the back of the postcard! Someone ought to take that stamp away from that postie who keeps using it! He's getting power crazy with stamping everything that comes his way! Probably pats himself on the back and thinks it's a job well done when he besmirches all the mail all day long! This postcard that I love so much is actually a vintage style reprint! Makes me homesick for San Diego even though I've never been there! Thank you so much for this thank you postcard card and a special thanks for not sending me a card inviting me to be cremated! Maybe in the near future I'll appreciate being sent a cremation invitation! Apparently the San Diego postcard was sent in retaliation for a birthday and Halloween card that I sent!
And finally u/junkyardd0gs sent a trickling - well, it was more like a flooding - in this envelope right here! And it's got washi tape on its backside! The frontside of the envelope I can't show because, yeah, you guessed it, it's got more top secret spy stuff! And boy does that segue neatly into this next pic! of a incredibly stunning depiction of a pumpkin spy's (aka spice) drink! What talent and creativity! And my favourite is this sticker of a railway box car right here! This sticker will stay in my possession forever! Well, at least until I get a knock at the door from the guys from the funeral home inviting me to their place for a cremation! Gonna be a hot time in the town that night! Back to the sticker! The logo on the box car says "CN"! I'm in Canada and CN is the logo for the Canadian National Railway! Now, believe it or not, CN is my competitor because I work for CP, that is to say the Canadian Pacific Railway! The boys at work are not gonna like me when they hear that I have a sticker from our competitor! Maybe I'll keep this our little secret just in case! Don't want to risk getting the crap beat or kicked out of me by my co-workers! And the envelope was also filled with all other kinds of stickers such as these guys right here! There was a whole, and I mean whole, bunch of little purple squares included in the envelope! They smelled really good, undoubtedly scented some how, so I decided to give them the taste test but they didn't make the grade! Although I do admit that they provided a lot of fibre for my daily diet! And there were loads of other stickers that're too numerous to mention here! And the front of the thank you card right here! that was also in the envelope! Well I better hustle and close this post now because those little purple squares are starting to do their fibre thing and I need to head to the washroom! Cheers!
