I received lots of fun mail over the last week or so, fun to get surprise mail:
u/AppleCritter723 thank you for the surprise fox postcard! So good to hear from you. I do love gardens....when I can manage to keep the deer, rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks out of them!!! I have to say I am quite impressed you have an Orchid. I know they take a lot of care and are very particular where they are and how much they get watered. I have never managed to keep one alive past the first blooms that are on it when I buy it. I will stick to my spider plant.
u/birdiebennett thank you for your postcard of Billy, he is such a pretty kitty!
u/brittybear94 Love love love this pink highland cow postcard, and matching sticker and magnet - you spoil me! Magnet is going right up on my fridge, what a great reminder of my days in the UK. There was a walking trail I used to like that had a hear of Highland cows on it - so fun to watch them.
u/Cosmic_Kepler thank you for the long postcard. I had no idea you could make postcards like this. I will definitely keep this in mind. I often use Travel brochures to created postcards but find many of the pics too narrow. I love the story of your fav childhood toy. What an awesome gift!
u/cswl thank you for the watercolor butterfly, I am always in awe of people with such artistic talent!
u/DoraDoodle thank you for the Old Route 66 postcard. How much of it did you travel on? Thanks so much for thinking of me - I love to travel a bit myself, have never given Route 66 specifically much thought, by I just might give it a try :)
u/fachinchilla thank you for exchanging postcards with me. Thank you for the Fort Worth one, I lived outside Dallas for a few years and we loved going to the Rodeos. I remember how hot it was and am glad I have moved to a cooler climate.
u/freshwhitepowder ooohhh and wow, not one but two lovely daffodil cards! I love getting people's artwork and these are no exception. I will proudly put the card up on my bulletin board to enjoy for a while longer, and the other one will be waiting for just the right person to send it to.
u/funkmom thank you for the Vail, CO postcard. I am happy to be sending something your way :) Colorado is on my list of states I have yet to visit. No idea why I haven't been there yet, everyone says it is just beautiful. One Day.....hopefully sooner than later
u/Jdoodle7 thank you for the Mount Rainier postcard, just now got it in the mail before I finished my thank you post :) I tried to go there the only time I visited Seattle and the road was closed. Seeing Mt St Helen's must have been awesome. I remember when it erupted, we had cloudy skies all the way to upstate NY
u/KoreWrites thank you for the National Mall postcard. I would love to hear more about the Creatives Meet-up you attended. Sounds fun!
u/libertyprogrammer x 2 thank you for the New River Gorge NP stamp and postcard, I SO knew you would stop somewhere just to get postcards like I did! Glad to hear the air is clearing up in Canada. Secondly, so honored to get postcard from Mr LP, I had no idea they made a new National Park as recently as 2020 - yes I had to look it up. Looks doable for a 2-3 day trip!
u/lonelytwatwaffle thank you for the bookstore window postcard, I hope your summer has settled down a bit since the beginning of the month. We have been having fun traveling, and making more plans to travel.
u/marchbook thanks for the pretend vacation postcard. I first read it and thought, WHAT? then I remembered what kind of postcards we were exchanging lol. Hope the trip back went better than expected.
u/ninajyang x 2 thank you for the Tequila postcard - sounds like you had a good time up until it was time to travel home. Traveling is always an Adventure that is for sure. Thank you also for the LouPaper Cheese postcard. I am not sure how well I would do working from home. I am too easily distracted, plus too close to the pantry with all the snacks.
u/OGTrashKan you did great on my yellow, blue and flower request! I love bluebells too so the poem you included made it all the more special. Thank you for the origami flower, funnily enough I took an origami class this spring, thought I would send some in RAoC mail, but haven't had the nerve to do so yet - you have given me a push towards Maybe doing that.
u/on1oman1ac thank you for the beautiful postcard celebrating World Ocean Day, how special that you got to see the dolphins from such a special place! I love to watch dolphins and am so jealous of your experience.
u/roboticdumpling x 2 thank you for both of your postcards, such a surprise to get one but two, I feel special. I love Van Gogh - what a perfect one to choose for me. Thanks too for the Groovy class postcard - I was Never considered Cool, at least until I become a mom and made graveyard treats with ghosts, tombstones, bones and gummi worms for my kids Kindergarten classes :) Hope your decorating of your new office space is coming along well.
u/tigerlady13 aka Aunt Bertha - thank you for the thought on the house, but the one I have is just fine, feel free to sell it and get me something more useful - like a ride on the shuttle to Venus!
u/welshfancy x 5 LOL so many bird stories!! As soon as I saw the first card with a crow and pumpkin, I just knew it was going to be my long awaited bird encounter story. O M G You describe the Aqua-net hair/raven attach so vividly I could picture it so well. Poor You!! No wonder you are not a fan of birds. Story/postcard #2 - What a sad little cockatoo-must have looked pathetic with no feathers. Story/postcard #3 - yeah falcon representing Atlanta falcons is a bit of a stretch but I think it still counts. That was the only Superbowl to ever go into overtime. Bird card/story #4 cute bird card, but the story of visiting your grandparents in Oklahoma - no thanks - I would have refused to catch and pluck a headless chicken! The fifth and final card....um...yeah I will have to agree...it is not the prettiest card I have ever seen. Glad you liked the butterfly ribbon card. And I forgive you for pulling it apart to see how it was created. I think you could do the same thing with paper or washi tape. I might make more. The black over lay I did on my Cricut :) Tell Odin no more "leaps of death" you need your crafting space. I hope you figure out another way to craft, it is such a great outlet. I will send you a "bird" story or two soon. Thank you my friend for always making me smile!
