Just got a call from the doctors that my grandpa is really really ill. The doctors said that he has only a maximum of 2 months to live. It is absolutely heartbreaking. He is such a sweet old man, who have supported and loved me unconditionally. I wanted to collect some postcards with positive messages so I can read to him in the hospital. He used to write long letters to me when I was away from him, so I know he will absolutely love it.
Right now, he is really scared of death, and it breaks my heart when he says āIām not ready to leave, I love this place too much.ā I hope that these postcards can offer some comfort to him in his final days.
A little background info about him: My grandpa came from a poor rural family. None of his parents or siblings ever had the opportunity to receive education as it was just to costly. But he had such a passion for literature and sciences that he would walk for hours to nearby villages to borrow books to read at night.
His hard work eventually paid off! He was the first person in the village to get in uni, and it was the number 1 university in the country. After he graduated from university, he went back to his old village to help out his relatives and neighbours to gain better quality life. He later also established his own charity to help children gain better access to education.
