Oddyssey of the Magic Fighters is currently just a character sheet concept. I just had a thought of making a simple TTRPG with no frills about fighters who can perform magic spells. Each spell has two standard effects with up to three optional effects. At chargen, the player chooses a spell that they can use without limit with only a single spell effect from a list of "1/2 spells". The player then chooses a spell that can be used once with up to three optional effects. Then one spell is selected that can be used three times with one optional effect. Finally, the player chooses six spells that use a point pool of 6 which can be accessed by rolling a 6 on 1d6. Each of these spells can be used once to six times each, subtracting from the point pool.
There are 12 item slots. Each one can hold a single item. Some items take up multiple slots, and multiples of a single item take up at least two item slots- one slot for the item and (at least one) adjacent slots for the numbers of the items. Player characters (PCs) are assumed to be wearing some clothing that does not take up a slot. Some items will be chosen from the list at chargen, but other slots on your charsheet can be filled later as the need arises. Note that removing items once the slots are filled takes narrative positioning. Once all item slots are filled on a charsheet, one cannot simply erase a slot and replace it with a new needed item.
Health is measured in four boxes. When a wound is taken, write it in the box. The fourth box is always a wound that will lead to death- sometimes obviously instantly.
Opponents will have wounds they can inflict lists. The same is true of items.
That's about as far as my thinking has gone. Thoughts? Thank you for reading!
