I was considering getting another 1-2 rats for the 2 boys I have now with all the advice I’ve gotten. I’ve had them for 2 weeks. They’re about 2-3 months old. They aren’t warming up to me much. One is VERY skittish and the other seems like he wants to bond but is very rough/painful nipping me (but not drawing blood).

The other day I also noticed 2 bloody spots on the one that nips and idk if it was an accident or the skittish one biting him while they were wrestling (which they do a lot).

I am now second guessing if I should get 1-2 more because while cleaning their cage tonight I had them in a box like usual but they knocked it over and the skittish one went under this dresser. It took forever to get him back in the cage. I had to scoop him up in a box and put him back since he won’t let me pick him up yet & now I feel like this just set back any bonding that has happened with them. Now I’m afraid they’re afraid of me. this is the aftermath in the photo.
