Sometimes life takes you in unexpected directions. For me, there's been a lot of truly great changes in my life in the last year or so. Got divorced, got out of the military, moved across country to be back where I have people. I have never been happier, and now I'm ready to cautiously start dipping my toes into the process of meeting new people. It's been a long time since I was single, and I've spent the last year figuring out who I am now. All that to say, I am just seeing what the possibilities are.
A bit about me - some people get the Sunday scariest, I actually look forward to Mondays. It's the start of a new week, and I actually gasp like my job? Weird, weird, I know. But after years of loathing my career, the bar is low, and my current job definitely is a major upgrade from previous work.
I made salad for dinner, and definitely didn't hide in my laundry room to eat some Oreos without sharing with my kids. Bet you're worried you won't be able to keep up with me.
About me - divorced, two kids, one of whom is special needs. Military folks and intellectuals are typically who I get along with best. I'm pretty liberal. Love cycling and running. And food. Mmmm. I love food.
Things I like - listening to audiobooks, DIY projects, and fall. I stereotypically love sweatshirts and warm blankets. I'm not actually excited about summer. I want spring to linger so I can keep enjoying wearing sweaters and curling up under blankets blankets in the cool mornings and evenings. I especially love spring thunderstorms. The west coast (least where I was living) didn't have thunderstorms hardly ever and I missed them so, so much.
About you - single, married - I'm just looking for friends. Would it be nice to meet someone? Sure, but I like to keep my expectations for things low. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised rather than disappointed. Plus I'm realistic - mom of a special needs kids = more than most people want to sign on for, which is 100% ok - it's more than I want to be signed on for most days!
