7z files - what are they?
Post Body

Hi! I have some data in a folder labelled 'MBES processed data (ascii)'. It's all 7z files, so I used Windows Explorer to extract files. When I tried it on some, all I got was a text file with a load of co-ordinates?! Does this sound right? I was hoping for some data I could load into GIS software?

Please note, I have never processed or loaded raw data into GIS software - just existing bathymetry layers, shapefiles etc, so are these text files part of some process of loading data into GIS?!
