I think because it belies a culture that encourages (or at least doesnât punish) that type of behavior in men. Itâs not about the individuals or âbad applesâ. That culture is the reason weâve got people like Andrew Tate who have made millions off of their popularity. Millions and millions of people are subscribed to that school of thought, and that really says something about the current culture.
Obviously not all men think that way, but so many have been touched by that in ways that are so subtle unless youâre the target of the behavior. I canât name a single woman in my life that hasnât been sexually harassed or assaulted, and a lot of that harassment happens in ways that may seem harmless to a lot of guys. When women say that theyâre frustrated with men, what we usually mean is that weâre frustrated with this negative culture that the vast majority of men have been inundated with. We have to go around with our guards up constantly because of this, and itâs exhausting.
Itâs also very sad to see that when people see this frustration and exhaustion they donât think about what that person mustâve gone through, but instead are annoyed by women sharing their experiences of harassment and their feelings towards it.
