Warning: this is a massive gush post

I have always loved power metal but Helloween up until now has always been a playlist band for me. When I was a teenager in the 00's a buddy of mine got the Treasure Chest cd and I really loved Where the Rain Grows, Perfect Gentleman, Falling Higher, Mr. Torture, etc. I am seeing them in May and am doing my first proper dive into the didcography.

I honestly have had a mixed experience and I think most would agree their discography is an experience of jarring highs and lows.

That said HOLY SHIT, Keeper part 1 is SO DAMN GOOD. Every platitude I've heard about this record over the years is COMPLETELY justified. I have listened to only this album for like 2 weeks! I am reminded of the chills I get every time I listen to Abigail or other 80s classics, where has this been my whole life!

I have also been loving Master of the Rings, Better than Raw, Dark Ride, the new self titled (so gooood!) and Straight out of Hell, but KOT7KP1 is the best album hands down. Obsessed!
