As the years go on the desire to reclaim Burmese land only increases which coupled with the fact that there was now a competitor in the south-east meant that the Socialist Republic had to move fast. The land of Burma had to be united under the Red Flag of Socialism before the false-state of Myanmar could exert their counter-revolutionary and bourgeoise influence. A directive from President La declared the creation of the Burmese Expeditionary Force, an expansionary group of regiments that would be used to ensure socialist ownership over Burmese lands.

The lands the BEF moved into were not owned by the monarchists that plagued the north-west, instead they were small communities of people that largely did not care for the rest of the world. The BEF moved into these communities and offered development, peace, stability, and most importantly food. These villages were quick to accept the offer of protection from the BEF due to raids that had occurred for the past few months. A force of one hundred BEF soldiers was left in the area to help train the locals into a detachment of the People's Militia.

With the lands protected through military ownership as well as devotion to socialism from the locals, invading the area would be incredibly hard. As the once-Chairman Mao said "An army of the people is invincible!"
