When:
- Late-night throughout the week, and any future weeks to come! 9:30pm-2am PST is when we're usually available.
What you'll need:
The Game expansions (all available within the Indie Royale bundle, among other games for $5-6)
Insomnia (or just the ability to be up late!)
A social personality!
AI War is a fully cooperative large-scale RTS 4X game with a bit of tower defense mixed in for good measure. Some battles within the game will have you pitting thousands upon thousands of your own ships against the AI in battle. It's hard to explain all of the tidbits, but plenty of information is located here.
The DLC (there are now 5 of them) add a ton to the game, with new AI types to face off against, new universe layouts, tons of new ships and other assorted goodies. Fortunately, every single thing you need, plus almost every other game by the developer (all of which are cooperative and excellent) are in the Indie Royale bundle for the next 5 days or so!
A little background, I'm part of a regular group that plays a lot of games together (currently a mix of Rift, Marvel Heroes, Path of Exile, miscellaneous other dungeon crawlers, Minecraft, Terraria, LoL, steam games, etc.) but none of them seem to want to play AI War! I have one other person, and she, like me, doesn't have much experience with the game. We've played through once and really enjoyed it, but are looking to play again but with some more folks. We'll (ideally) be exploring the game together, as opposed to having someone super familiar with the game coach us through.
We play late-night EST, though we tend to seek out PST folks due to that. I'm personally generally on around 9:30pm-2am PST most nights due to the nature of my work, and would be looking to play within that time slot, ideally. It wouldn't have to be an every-night deal, maybe once or twice per week, especially considering each game can pan over several game sessions. You'd of course be welcome to join our little group and play other games with us, as well! Most are free to play, to boot (Rift, Path of Exile, Marvel Heroes which are sucking up most of our time.)
I think that about covers it! If you opt for the bundle, it should end up running you $5-6 or so for all of the games, and I'd love to play A Valley Without Wind 2, which is also available within the pack.
Hope to hear from some of you guys soon! We're ideally looking for one or two folks, but the more the merrier in the long run. My mumble supports about 30, and I can upgrade as necessary.
