Post Body

With the school year starting up again (at least in the Northern hemisphere), we'll probably be getting an influx of people asking simple/homework questions.

These kinds of questions are not appropriate as standalone posts on /r/Physics. Instead, they should be submitted as comments within the weekly questions thread, and/or as posts on /r/AskPhysics.

We have a number of recurring weekly threads here, including

  • a thread for physics questions
  • a thread for career/education questions, and
  • a thread for textbook/resource recommendations.

There are links which navigate to the most recent of those threads in the sidebar, and we'll usually have two of them stickied (Reddit only allows two stickies at a time).

If you have a question about one of those topics, you should post it in one of the weekly threads. All of those kinds of questions are also welcome in /r/AskPhysics.

If you see these kinds of questions posted as standalone threads, we ask that you report them, or redirect the OP to the correct place, or just refrain from answering.

Thank you.
