Real estate agent wants me to pay to stage property

I’m selling my condo and my real estate agent wants me to pay up front for the staging. I thought it was common practice that the agents pays the stager out of the commission he makes.
Any advice?
Edit to clarify I’m in the GTA and I’ll be paying a 4% commission. There has been no mention of him paying me back.
