Contribute to RRSP or TFSA?

Hi PFC!

Relatively new to investing and was wondering should I contribute bi-weekly to my RRSP or TFSA or both?

For context, I got a new job which does not have a pension program. My previous job did and I contributed 1.5% and the company 4.5%($150 total), this was the max matching available. I was also contributing around $150/$200 bi weekly to my TFSA.

Both have lots of room as I am an Immigrant and moved here in 2018 but only started investing in Sept 2021. Previous to this, I only had a pension plan at a previous job that had around 10k.

I was thinking to keep the same bi-weekly contributions to my TFSA($200) and contribute $150 to my RRSP. I'll also try to increase the contributions since I got a big salary increase with the new job.

I was wondering does it make more sense to contribute into one over the other?

I am using both as long term investments accounts for retirement. I'll possible pull some money out of the RRSP for a down payment in the next few years.

Thanks!
