infinite load on switch

I'm replaying P5R on Switch and every time I get to the last phase of the very last boss fight (3rd semester palace), i get the Take Your Time loading animation forever. I've already restarted and reloaded the entire battle, which takes forever to get to the point where the game gets stuck, but it hasn't worked, and i can't find anyone else having this issue online. Anyone run into this?
