Prolapse after POP surgery

Post Body

Hello! I’m 5/6 weeks post op from having a bladder sling and a partial hysterectomy. I had a grade 4 Cystocele which was repaired. Everything has been feeling great. I had a relatively easy recovery. I tried to rest as much as I can but I also have a two year old. I didn’t lift her at all during my recovery but I was sitting and playing..

Anyways I just had my follow up and during my surgeon said everything looked perfect and I was cleared to do whatever now and to start slowly increasing the amount of weight that I can lift.

I just read her office note and it says that I still have a mild prolapse.. Which then prompted me to finally take a mirror and look down there and I can just barely see my cervix. I’m so so so frustrated. I did get a script for pelvic floor PT but I’m wondering if I screwed up my recovery..

I know the recurrence of prolapse post surgery is there but my life was miserable the past two and a half years after giving birth. I’m grateful to be able to pee normally and not be in a crazy amount of pain..

I am also wondering if I have a connective tissue disorder and if that has something to do with this also. Let’s hope PT can help my remaining prolapse..

Thanks if you made it this far. I’m just at a loss and questioning if I even should’ve went through all of this..
