Way of the Wicked Book 1 Act 4 situation. *Spoilers*
Post Body

I think I have this figured out, but I'd love to hear some feedback.

My PC's had a plan. They decided to kill the bartender in town, and disguise as him, then when he and Barholde had dinner together they would ambush and kill him. They attempted to do this 2 days early, and wound up triggering the event where the bartender doesn't go home one night. Barholde rolled a nat 20 on perception giving him a 40 ( 12 Perc, 8 close friends), and he instantly saw through the disguise. The initiative worked out well for the PC's, one of the PC's had snuck upstairs, and she conjured a Lemure devil, and sent it downstairs as a distraction, Donnagin prioritized that along with the guards, but Barholde focused on the disguised PC. She ended up escaping after a short chase, and we ended the session there.

So my goal is to determine the consequences, and here is what I have so far:

The Witch that conjured the devil is still inside, along with a room full of skulls they'd been collecting, and some other incriminating items. She will have a limited time to react, either escaping, or possibly frame Ye Merrie Men, but either way, she'll be held for questioning if found. Donnagin will spend about an hour investigating, searching the bar, and rooms to determine what has happened, and given the appearance of the devil, will probably suspect something evil. There is a possibility they find the entrance to the keep in the basement with Perception rolls (also where the PC's stashed the real body). Donnagin will then return to the keep, and inform Havelyn. He will order Donnagin, and Barholde to continue probing the town for the next 24 hours (possibly a target the PC's could exploit), and in the meantime, he'll seal the Tower (no servants, etc.) for 3 days, or until they conclude the investigation. The Dwarves will be moved to the keep until the inn re-opens (after the deadline), and all others quartered there will be allowed to camp outside in the forested area south of the market. Guards will be posted at the inn for 3 days, or until the tunnel is sealed (if they find it). Havelyn will also go up to the rookery trying to send a message to notify that he may need reinforcement, though currently, a PC is disguised as Mad Martin, and living in his tower during the day, so the message is unlikely to be sent.

Negatives for the PC's:

  • It's harder to get to Barnabus now
  • They may lose access to the underground entrance to the tower.
  • The same PC disguising as the bartender was also working as a servant in the tower, so that may not be an option anymore either.
  • One of the PC's, is working as a guard in the tower (long story), so he'll be tied up at the tower for 3 days or more.
  • It strands 2 PC's outside of the tower, and 2 locked in

How does this sound. Am I missing anything big here? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Edit 1 reformatted, and added to the Negatives section

Edit 2: Per request here is the current checklist:

Eddarly is dead, Mott is on the way to Branderscar; Varning is dead, and the scene of that crime is covered up well; Mad Martin is dead, though the birds are still alive currently since a PC is posing as him. They have 13 days remaining to take down the tower, and they need to kill Havelyn, Donnagin, Barholde, Barnabus, and Tacitus, their respective soldiers (depending on their level of completionist desires), and sabotage all of the equipment (they know how to do most of this).
