Do I really have to improve my friendship with all villagers to get more quests?

I really like the game but I real don’t want to talk to most of the villagers 😠my relationship status with pretty much everyone but Reth, Kenyatta, Hodari and Hassian are all on 1 or barely even started. It’s on 3 with Tish because I’m trying to romance her but I can’t give her 1 of the 4 gifts she wants because that’s an Apple pie and I can’t get apples until I complete Zeki and Nai’o level 3 relationship, and I really don’t like ZekiðŸ˜
