Someone Please help!

I'm working on the Follow Tau's Trail quest, and I'm at the second checkpoint (the area after the camp, that is seemingly on a bunch of cliffs???) and I CANNOT for the life of me find whatever I am supposed to be looking for.

I have searched all 3 tiers of the cliffs, I have stood on top of the quest marker on the map spinning in circles looking for something, anything that will trigger the quest to show me the next marker, and cannot figure out what I am supposed to find. I have consulted walkthroughs and can't find what I think I am supposed to be looking for.

What am I missing??????

(I'm playing on a Switch if that matters?)
