My PSVR works until I start VR Mode in a game

I loaded up Ace Combat to get those feel good flying vibes only to find that my PSVR works right up until I go into VR mode in the game. I tested it with Beatsaber as well and the PSVR gives me the right menu experience right until I start the game. Help???!!! (I've walked through all the Playstation help stuff but none of that seems to cover what is going on)
