Hey everyone, I wanted to share a few actionable things currently working for me on Facebook / IG ads. I just want to mention what's working for me might not work for you, test it slow and scale fast! I also want to say these tests are all for USA, I sell internationally though, maybe we can go into that in another post. Also I added a definition of all the acronyms I used for anyone whos still learning!
Firstly I wanted to say I finally figured out how to do retargeting to all page engagers on a single Facebook page with more than one product, in this case it's 6. I did a 365 day engagement CA and all I did is put every one of the working ad into that adset, nothing new. Set the budget according to the amount of traffic you are receiving. In my case I'm doing $30 a day low and slow, the reason you do this is because your audiences are getting smaller due to the tracking limitations and at the same time the people in your audiences may not be online at the time. This will generate massive ROAS, and keep the frequencies lower so the retargeting will last longer and people won't be upset with you cause the frequency is getting really high. Currently 6.29 ROAS with $711 spent, so I can say it's statistically significant.
The next thing that's working crazy well for me is the new expand LLA option! It's not available for everyone after talking to a buddy, but if you have it, it's crushing, let me tell you the set up for this one at 5.54 ROAS after $763 spent. So when you have a really great LAA and you start breaking it down the audiences sizes decrease pretty quickly. I seen that my 1% Value PUR was doing really well, but specifically the ages 35-44, if I broke that down it would be very small, but now I used the expand LAA option and it turned into 23m. That is currently still running in an ABO at $50 and I was able to scale with a $300/d CBO that is currently at $1333 spend with 1.94 ROAS, so not to bad, but the next part I will talk about CBOs and tell you why. But before that, I also want to say I've been taking 1% Value LAA's and using that option to scale very nicely as well.
So CBOs have been performing pretty poorly on one account and okay on another, but ABO campaigns are doing much, much better. So I am mostly only using those other than a few $300-$400 CBOs just to keep testing them. Keep that in mind, because I used to scale with CBOs for the most part and they just weren't working, now that I moved to way more adsets in my ABO account's I am making some really great progress.
For the last one, I'm going to go with optimizing for value after you had some successful campaigns on the default conversion option. The value option seems to be available randomly sometimes, but if you get 100 sales in one week it will also appear, actually I don't remember if it was 100 or 50. But if you can sell 50 you can sell 100. haha. So I actually just took the entire campaign and duplicated it, changed all the conversion objectives to Value and let the 6 best ad sets go at $50 a day. Four of them did really well and I continued to scale them in that same ABO campaign. Another method is to take the best adset, make sure it's a big audience, this one's 79m and throw it in a CBO by itself, I set it to $400 a day. Currently it's at 2.10 ROAS after $677 spent, so again not bad as it's a CBO.
Acronyms:
CA = Custom Audience - These audiences are created from people visiting your site or wherever you have your pixel installed.
ROAS = Return On Ad Spend.
LAA or LAL = LookAlike Audience - Use the CA's to create look alikes of those, audiences. So if you have 1000 sales, Facebook will make an audience from all the data those people provided and find similar people. It's really powerful.
ABO = Adset budget optimization - This means the budget is at the Adset level.
CBO = Campaign budget optimization - This means the budget is at the campaign level.
If you made it this far, thanks for reading! I really hope I provided some value and something you can test and crush right now. Facebook has been doing pretty well for me for a while, so go get your piece of the pie! But always remember to never stop testing, ever! The difference between the best advertisers on Facebook is that they literally test 50x more than others. I made that number up, but ya know what I mean. haha. Good luck!
