Pinebook Pro issue with SD boot

Post Body

So I am in the process of trying out some of the OS options and would like something Debian based. I've tried loading Armbian, Debian and Ubuntu with little success. Each time I try the screen turns on but does not display anything. At first I thought I had done something wrong but when I tried with Ubuntu it actually is booting because I can hear the Ubuntu chime there is just nothing being displayed. Again the screen is on and it boots to Manjaro XFCE just fine on the emmc. That's the second part of the equation. I had no issue putting Manjaro XFCE on the emmc it booted to SD just fine with that.

Any ideas how I can fix this? Or can only Arch/Manjaro based OSs be loaded on the PBP?

Edit: I tried Debian again (mrfixit) and it loaded. Still no luck with Ubuntu or Armbian

Edit2: Using etcher seems to have fixed all this issues. I am unsure why using dd or Disks didn't work.
