This was one of my favorite scenes that stayed with me, Gary Oldman is always brilliant. However, I disagree with the interpretation of this scene of Truman just thinking Oppenheimer was “weak”. Looking at what Truman had actually said it went more like “I’ve got way more blood on my hands than him and I don’t go around bellyaching about it.” I think it was more he thought Oppenheimer was being melodramatic, and Truman had more old-fashioned values similar to the British “stiff upper-lip” - you deal with your demons in private you don’t wail about it in public.
