Stray thought, as I find myself clicking my way back here, a boy like me in a place like this, feeling the usual salad of feelings (not so much loneliness as weariness at being alone, no so much boredom as a longing to be surprised, thirst): it's often a funny combination of the general and the specific that people come here looking for.

On the one hand, there's wanting, missing, the kind of connection that doesn't need to be about anything, where you're excited to talk about whatever because you're you and the other person is them, exactly them; where, even, some of the excitement, and a kind of comfort, comes from recognizing that each other's presence is enough—more than. What was in days gone by known as just liking each other. The ease of that and the kind of steady, always deepening intimacy that comes with it.

On the other hand, there's having that secret thing, that intimate thing that's exciting in a specially charged way, a thing you might feel vulnerable even talking about but you badly want to talk about, more than talk about, but with whom? There isn't anyone. You wish there were someone. The thing might be several things, or a constellation of things, or something not so specific as any one thing or list of things. And, like, wanting whatever it is might not be the reason you're here—but it's not nothing.

Anyway: trying the "type into the void a bit and see if it gets anyone typing back" approach to posting. Would be glad to hear from anyones of all kinds, but women who are nerdy (about any sort of thing), thick-of-thigh (etc.!), sweet (whether or not you let most people know it), or weird (per any definition by which that's a good thing) are particularly encouraged.
