There has been a divide amongst the community about the recent surge in power among the monster trio. I personally do not mind sanji’s power up due to the beautiful character development he had. I did not love sanji’s fight as a whole but it was still great due to the character development. it felt like sanji was competitive due to queens arrogance. Then once sanji came to terms with himself and accepted the germa modifications, he absolutely destroyed queen. This power up was absolutely necessary to show that sanji can still keep up with luffy and zoro. The talks of yamato messing up the monster trio can end now. As a sanji fan, the zoro fight was the best fight so far. A beautiful back and forth battle with more information about swords, the ancient kingdom, and kaidos past sprinkled in. The problem with manga fights is we skim through them so fast. I feel like this fight animated will be one of the most legendary fights in one piece. The art work here is amazing and this the first time zoro has been challenged post time-skip. No issues with zoro’s power boost. Bravo!

Now the only issues I have is with luffy’s. I hold kaido’s power to be on par with whitebeard. The strongest creature should be able to keep up with the strongest man. When its 1v1 kaido always wins right? Are we going to be okay with luffy defeating kaido? If we say yes then we have to say luffy is ready for the marines after wano. He should be able to take on multiple admirals because thats what a sick whitebeard did. I disagree. I do not think luffy is there yet. Many people are justifying luffy’s eventual victory by saying he learned ACOC. However, kaido convincingly K.O’d luffy again after he learned all the stuff. If it wasnt for laws submarine hearing luffy call for them, luffy would of died. Thats where oda messed up. He should of never said luffy lost again. Now luffy is going to come back again and win? I get that kaido has been fighting non stop and a lot of people said yamato wore him down as well, but luffy has been fighting just as long. Theres need to be another way luffy wins without breaking this power scale.

A solution that hopefully makes everyone happy: Luffy comes back to give kaido one hell of a fight. A back and forth battle where they both fall and the only one that gets back up is kaido. Similar to katakuri vs luffy but roles are reversed. Kaido reminiscences about the fight and he gives luffy his respect and title of yonko. Big Mom takes advantage of a barely alive kaido and stabs him in the back. The big favor kaido owe big mom is now repaid. This whole time Big mom had her crew search for something in wano. Once they found it, her crew ambushes onigashima and help big mom with kid and law so she can defeat a weaken kaido. As she is about finish off luffy, the World Government comes and takes over wano. Luffy and the strawhats have to escape along with the big mom pirates. Morgans writes a paper saying luffy defeated kaido. Luffy knows he didnt and it eats at him while hes on elbaf. He trains even harder knowing that big mom is on her way to finish the job. That way luffy can justify his title of yonko.
