As an older intelligent handsome guy I see so many posts here about the approach principle.

I'd love a younger woman to smile at me and say hi. I think there's barriers on both sides, I'd though love to just be me and someone say hi and approach me. I think on both sides of the coin we see things differently, I feel slightly creepy if I approach someone however I'd not feel it in reverse. Views please.
