At my property I get almost no cell phone signal. The nearest tower is about 3.5 mile away but the property is heavily treed and I think that is probably my biggest problem. Also, while I have a good sized hill that I am building on, I think there is a hill that is about 20 feet higher than where I am between me and the tower that might also be blocking signal.
I am looking at getting a cell booster system and mounting it up as high as I can (trees are mostly Big Leaf Maples and Hemlocks that are over 80' tall so I can't get above them but I can probably get higher than the other hill).
Anyone here have experience doing this? What has worked for you? Are the WeBoost systems worth the extra cost? I'm considering the cost of getting one of the cheaper boosters and just upgrading the coax and a good directional antenna. How dumb of an idea is to to mount the antenna on a tree rather than setting up an antenna mast?
