Did you have to have your professional reference for licensure take their document to be notarized?

I know this only helps if you are in the state of Georgia, but I'll take other's responses too. I'm thinking if everyone says yes it's more than likely I will have to to. I ask because I heard somewhere that it was optional, but need to confirm and I can't get ahold of that office.
